Special Events Coverage

The Parish Service Corporation recognizes the importance of special events and field trips in promoting community building and supplementing educational initiatives.

Special Events coverage provides $1,000,000 combined single liability bodily injury, property damage, and host liquor liability coverage per event (not per claim).

The cost of coverage is: $100 per event.

Eligible activities include:

  • Parties - funeral gatherings, birthdays, anniversaries, wedding receptions, beef and beers, festivals, fish fries
  • Spectators at sporting events, tournaments or holiday events
  • Performances - recitals, plays (not parish-sponsored)
  • Meetings - any outside organization that is not parish-affiliated or parish-sponsored
  • Sales - flea markets, product demonstrations

Coverage does not apply to certain events, such as, but not limited to:

  • Amusement rides, including mechanically operated devices, trampolines and rebounding devices
  • Events involving pool or lake activities
  • Charity sporting events (i.e., 3 on 3 basketball tournaments). Coverage is provided to specatators but not participants
  • Any carnival event
  • Fireworks and firework displays
  • Events organized/operated by professional performers/promoters
  • Events which exceed 72 hours in duration
  • Events involving recreational vehicles
  • Political rallies
  • Inflatable Amusement Device (unless pre-approved; flat charge of $250 applies)
